Pierre Tallet manages the archaeological missions of the IFAO south Sinai, in Ain Sukhna and Wadi el-Jarf:

In the Wadi el Jarf on the west bank of the Suez gulf, 25 km south of Zafarana, was found an ancient Egyptian port similar to those of Mersa Gawasis and Ain Sukhna. Some caves a few kilometers from the sea were used as warehouses. Boat parts and papyrus fragments served to dating the using the site: the 4th dynasty pharaohs.
